Welcome to the GRITLab Africa

GRIT Lab Africa was founded in 2016 by Professor Ade-Ibjola as a social project for training young Africans in grit and programming. Abejide mentors 116 young people across 38 higher institutions of learning in 11 African countries. The Kingsman Academic is an identity that symbolizes a person who is able to transcend the divisions in society, continuously acquire future-fit skills, solve for society using technology, and help others. GRIT Lab Africa is a non-profit program for training such young people across Africa.

About GRIT Lab Africa

GRIT Lab Africa was started by Prof. Abejide Ade-Ibijola. It's mission is to offer free training in computer programming skills. It also provides mentoring in mindset, discipline, and GRIT to young people throughout Africa.

Our vision is to create an inclusive space that trains diverse young Africans, regardless of background, gender, race, religion, or ethnicity, to become champions in computer programming. We focus not only on building technical skills but also on developing strong characters that care about helping others and addressing societal issues through technology.

In five years of running GRIT Lab, we have trained hundreds of young Africans in technical skills and character development. Our graduates have found jobs in South Africa's technology industry, started their own tech ventures, and helped build a strong community of problem-solvers and innovators across the continent.
